Non-academic subjects, such as Physical Education, Computer, Art, Music, Guidance, Hawaiian Studies and Handwriting, will be graded using a Mark system (+ commended), (X satisfactory) and (^ need improvement).  These grades are not factored in to the grade average for Honor Roll purposes.

                                              

Recognition of Academic Excellence

Students in grades 4-8 are eligible to be on the honor roll.  Fourth graders are eligible for the honor roll beginning in the second semester. A mark of “D or F” in any subject automatically make a student ineligible for the honor roll.

Two unsatisfactory grades in non-academic courses make a student ineligible for the honor roll.

 

Principal’s List - 4.0

Students must have an average of 4.0, based on a 4-point scale, and no checks against conduct and effort.

 

High Honors - 3.5-3.99

Students must have an average of 3.5-3.99, based on a 4-point scale, with no checks against conduct and no more than two checks in effort.

Honor Roll - 3.0-3.49

Students must have an average of 3.0-3.49, based on a 4-point scale, with no more than one check against conduct and three checks in effort.
